Why do people go up that flight of stairs?

Over the weekend I was thinking of something that probably everybody at Ernest Righetti High School has thought about. Why do we go up the flight of stairs that is one of the middle flight of stairs on the left side looking up the Greek Theater? We all know which one. Here is my analysis of maybe why most of us go up that flight of stairs and not the others, 1. We want to see our friends because we all walk those stairs 2. We think it is closer to wherever we are going 3. We just follow everybody else 4. We don't like change so we don't try to go against the crowd. I was thinking this is a metaphor of how we live our lives. What do you think?
