Please read "Young Goodman Brown" and write an essay in response to this prompt. We are all young Goodman Browns. In the short story Young Goodman Brown, the main character Goodman Brown is basically going through life. I believe that Brown is getting outward sources coming to him trying to change his mind about everything and he is questioning what is real and what to believe. I say that we are all young Goodman Browns because we all go through that, we believe one thing one second and then we can change our mind and believe another. I think the title of the story is ironic because the word "young" sometimes can be taken in a way that means they know nothing about life and it's surroundings and happenings because we haven't experienced them yet.
The short story is about a man who goes on a journey and learns something and meets someibe unexpected. The author of this story is trying to convey through the religious messages and superstitions that we all have that feeling of being unsure.The meaning of this short story is that we can't be certain in everything we do but it seems like we should. Life throws us weird mixed messages and we don't know if we are right or not, but it's okay.
